Dubai Parking Fees May Rise as Parkin Awaits RTA Approval
Parkin, Dubai’s leading operator of paid public parking services and facilities, announced on Wednesday that it has submitted a proposal to the regulator, Roads and Transport Authority (RTA), this month seeking revisions to parking tariffs and the seasonal card system.
The company, listed in Dubai, stated that approval of the proposal would result in a higher weighted-average public parking tariff.
“In mid February 2026, the company made a formal submission to the Roads & Transport Authority (RTA), requesting various adjustments that, if approved, would increase the weighted average public parking tariff. Among these are proposed changes to the seasonal card structure and tariffs, designed to reduce existing price arbitrage and better align with the variable pricing introduced earlier this year,” it said in a press statement posted on the Dubai Financial Market, where it is listed.
“The proposals would also preserve the existing discount framework to promote long term fairness for customers, Parkin, and the RTA,” it added.
Earlier coverage by the Khaleej Times highlighted that the average hourly paid parking rate in Dubai climbed 51 per cent in the third quarter of 2025 compared to the same period a year earlier. The weighted average hourly tariff rose to Dh3.03 during July–September 2025, up from Dh2.01, following the rollout of variable parking tariffs in April.
In April 2025, Parkin introduced a new variable parking tariff model across Dubai.
Parkin further noted on Wednesday that the “RTA has confirmed receipt of our proposal and will undertake a detailed review before approaching the Executive Council of Dubai for guidance and final approval.”
Expansion Plans and 2026 Outlook
Looking ahead to 2026, Parkin expects to grow its public parking portfolio by approximately 5,500 to 7,500 additional spaces during the year. The public parking segment is forecast to generate revenues ranging between Dh560 million and Dh610 million, compared to Dh524.5 million in 2025.
The company posted a net profit of Dh625.5 million for 2025, reflecting a 48 per cent increase year-on-year.Explore more Dubai distress deals
